Composer of March “Blue Spring” 2022 All Japan Band Competition Required Piece II I was born in Tomamae, Hokkaido, Japan, and graduated from the Composition Course of the Department of Music at Sapporo Otani University. I have provided concert band clinics for more than 150 ensembles and have performed at over 1,000 street pianos across Japan. I have been featured twice in The Asahi Shimbun and twice on TBS news23. I was also introduced as the “exceptionally cool composer” on the television program Nanani Chika ABEMA. My best-known work, March “Blue Spring”, has been performed by more than 2,000 ensembles in Japan and over 250 ensembles overseas. The work has also been featured on the television programs Prebato!!, Waratte Koraete! – Wind Band Journey, and in an NSK Toyama television commercial. In addition, it was voted 2nd place in the final round of the Everyone’s Required Pieces General Election 2026. My awards include the 2020 Otani Prize, selection in the 31st Asahi Composition Award, 3rd Prize in the Composition Division of the 17th Italy International Percussion Competition, the Jury Award in the Solo Division of the 23rd TIAA All Japan Composers Competition, 2nd Prize in the 15th Hirosaki Sakura-no-Sono Composition Competition, and the Encouragement Award at the 2016 Sapporo Citizens’ Arts Festival New Artists Concert, among many others. （I used a translation tool.）
